Parish Sharing Circles

St. Peter’s Truth & Reconciliation Action Committee is hosting 3 Parish Sharing Circles

It has been nearly two years since Pope Francis undertook his penitential pilgrimage to Canada. Bishop McGrattan, who was instrumental in presenting the invitation to His Holiness along with Indigenous leaders and brother bishops, shared his insights about the visit at St. Peter’s one year ago. At that time Bishop identified ten themes from the visit to inform our education for reconciliation.

Please join us in a series of sharing circles to re-examine these themes. Let us consider together how we as a parish and as individuals can respond to these Papal teachings as we journey together towards understanding the truth and reconciling with the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.

Upcoming Dates: Friday, June 21, 7-8:30 pm

We encourage you to read the four pastoral letters from the Canadian Council of Catholic Bishops on reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples posted on the Diocesan website at https://www.catholicyyc.ca/. Scroll down to the section on Residential Schools.
