The sexual abuse scandal has gripped the Catholic Church for the past thirty years and continues to wreak havoc even today. It’s been a diabolical masterpiece, one that has compromised the work of the Church in every way and has left countless lives in ruin.
Many Catholics are understandably asking, “Why should I stay? Why not abandon this sinking ship before it drags me or my children under?” In response to this extraordinary challenge, Bishop Robert Barron has written a brief book called Letter to a Suffering Church: A Bishop Speaks on the Sexual Abuse Crisis. He describes this writing as “a cry from the heart”. “Obviously, this book is not in any sense an “official” statement. It is simply my attempt to place the scandal within a theological, historical, and scriptural context and then to suggest a path forward.”

We hope this book might prove helpful to you, your family, your friends, and anyone who might feel demoralized, angry, and tempted to give up on the Church. Let’s all pray together for the victims of this terrible crisis, and for the healing and reform our Church so desperately needs.
The book will be released on July 22, 2019. We will be placing a group order from St. Peter’s so if you would like one, please register your name below. We will determine the cost once we have received them from the States, but it will be minimal. Deadline to order is June 30, 2019.
