Audio/Visual Ministry

What is it?

The Audio/Visual (AV) Ministry supports the technical needs of the parish during Masses and liturgical events. This includes managing sound, projection, and slides during services to ensure that parishioners can fully participate in the liturgy. The ministry plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in enhancing the prayerful atmosphere of the Mass by ensuring clear audio and smooth visual support.

This team also ensures all projected music is properly licensed and credited in accordance with copyright laws. Coordination with the Music Ministry and the use of tools like Planning Center help ensure the AV setup is both professional and respectful of legal and liturgical requirements.

How to Volunteer

Training is available for those interested in joining the AV team. Volunteers typically serve on a rotating schedule during weekend Masses and special liturgies. No prior technical experience is required – just a willingness to learn and a commitment to supporting the liturgical life of the parish.

What They Need from Volunteers

  • AV Operators: Run sound and slides during Masses.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensure slides match the liturgy and are properly licensed.

  • Willingness to Learn: Training is provided for new volunteers.

  • Team Participation: Communicate and coordinate with music ministry and sacristans as needed.

The Audio/Visual Ministry is a wonderful way to serve the parish quietly and meaningfully, ensuring that the sacred liturgy is accessible and enriching for all who attend. If you’re interested in helping behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
