What Pastoral Care Volunteers Do

Home Visits – Volunteers take the Eucharist to our parishioners who are shut in due to various reasons.  Time spent is dependent on both the volunteer’s tiime and the needs of the parishioner.

Senior Residences Visits – Volunteers provide Community Communion Services to 5 local residences where Mass is also celebrated once per month. 

Hospital Visits – Specially trained Alberta Health Services Religious Community Visitors

New Volunteers are always needed and welcomed

Requirements

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary requires volunteers who wish to participate in this Ministry to complete:

• Pastoral Care Course (offered by the Diocese)
• Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (arranged and paid for by the Parish)
• “Praesidium” Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
• Volunteer Information Form
• Confidentiality Agreement
• Agreement to the Code of Conduct and Accountabiliity
• Ministry Training and Orientation (Walk with Us)
