Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
What is it?
Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers (EMs) are parishioners who assist in the revenant distribution of the Holy Eucharist during Mass. This essential ministry supports the flow of Holy Communion, allowing the faithful to fully participate in the sacred liturgy. EMs may also assist in offering the Precious Blood when it is part of the celebration of the Eucharist.
How to Volunteer
Becoming an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is a meaningful way to serve the parish community. Training sessions are held periodically for new EMs, and recommissioning opportunities are available for those who wish to renew their commitment. If you feel called to this ministry, reach out to Stephen or Frank for details on the next training session.
What They Need from Volunteers
- New Volunteers: The ministry is always looking for parishioners who wish to serve in this sacred role.
- Ongoing Commitment: Regular participation ensures that all Masses are supported and enhances the communal worship experience.
- Training Attendance: All EMs must complete a training session to prepare for their role, ensuring a deep understanding of the ministry’s importance.
Joining the Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministry is a beautiful way to deepen your faith and actively participate in the liturgical life of the Church. Your service will help foster a spirit of community and reverence at every Mass.
