Lectors
What is it?
The Lectors ministry is dedicated to proclaiming the Word of the Lord during Mass. Lectors read from the ambo at the front of the congregation, sharing God’s Word in a clear and reverent way. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they help bring the Scriptures to life, encouraging the congregation to engage more deeply in the liturgy and strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
How to Volunteer
If you feel called to share the Word of God with the parish, the Lectors ministry invites you to join. A comprehensive training program is available to help new and current lectors develop their skills and build a personal connection with the Scriptures. Contact Lilo for details on upcoming training sessions.
What They Need from Volunteers
- New Members: Parishioners who are passionate about sharing God’s Word are encouraged to join.
- Preparation and Commitment: Lectors are expected to spend time preparing for their readings to ensure a clear, meaningful, and reverent proclamation.
- Training Attendance: Training sessions are essential to help lectors refine their skills and deepen their understanding of the Scriptures.
By becoming a lector, you will actively participate in the liturgy, bringing the Word of God to life and enriching the spiritual lives of the parish community.
