Prayer Shawl Ministry

What is it?

The Prayer Shawl Ministry brings comfort and prayerful support to those experiencing illness, loss, loneliness, or difficult times. Members of the ministry knit or crochet shawls, which are then blessed and distributed to individuals in need, including those in hospitals, hospices, or receiving pastoral care. Over the past four years, this ministry has lovingly created and given out over 1,060 shawls.

How to Volunteer

The Prayer Shawl Ministry welcomes new members who enjoy knitting or crocheting. You can work from home at your own pace and contribute to this beautiful expression of care and support.

How You Can Help

  • Join the Ministry: Use your knitting or crocheting skills to create prayer shawls.

  • Donate Supplies: The ministry gratefully accepts unused yarn to support its efforts.

  • Monetary Donations: Cash contributions help purchase materials for crafting the shawls.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a heartfelt way to provide comfort and remind those in need that they are held in the prayers of our parish community. If you’d like to contribute your skills or know someone who could benefit from a shawl, please reach out.
