Sacristans
What is it?
Sacristans play a vital behind-the-scenes role in the liturgy by preparing for Mass and ensuring all necessary items are ready. This includes setting up the altar, preparing sacred vessels, and arranging liturgical books. Sacristans serve at weekend and daily Masses and may also assist with special celebrations like weddings and funerals.
How to Volunteer
If you feel called to support the parish in this important role, consider becoming a Sacristan. Training is provided to help you understand the responsibilities involved.
What They Need from Volunteers
- New Members: Parishioners who are willing to assist with preparations for Mass are encouraged to join.
- Commitment: Regular participation ensures all Masses are well-prepared and supported.
- Flexibility: Volunteers may also have opportunities to assist with special celebrations, such as weddings and funerals.
Serving as a Sacristan is a meaningful way to contribute to the liturgical life of the parish, ensuring the beauty and reverence of the Mass.
